Tom McGovern

Tom is a qualified solicitor, who specialises in both criminal defence and road traffic matters. He is a graduate of both the University of Glasgow and the University of Dundee.

He is a founding member of Disabling Barriers Scotland, an organisation he co-founded to support lawyers with disabilities. The organisation is a registered charity and Tom now serves as a trustee of the charity. As a result of Tom’s efforts, Disabling Barriers Scotland was nominated for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion at the Scottish Legal Awards 2024.

In 2023, he became an affiliate Writer of the Signet and serves as a non-executive committee member of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association. He is qualified in both mental health first aid and suicide awareness.

Tom leads the Firm’s community engagement efforts, working closely with Chris’s House which is a local charity specialising in suicide prevention as well as the Law Society of Scotland and Dyslexia Scotland.

He prides himself on his professionalism, commitment to the community he serves and his client care which clients are not slow to appreciate his attentive nature which is evidenced by the number of positive reviews he has received on Google.
